(Photo of watercolor by My Daughter for my birthday)
1959 Chevrolet Apache 1/2 Ton Pickup
I took my driving test in this truck. Appriox 40 years later sold it to a gentleman who wanted to restore to factory conditions. He drove it onto a trailer and took it home.
Sweet watercolor...you can't go wrong when it's a beloved truck :)
ReplyDeleteLove it and what a great birthday gift, you do have a special daughter.......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteFirst, what a talented daughter you have - is it a hobby or career? We inherited a truck like this from my husband's grandfather, hoping to fix it up. Alas, we never had the time or money, so passed it along to an uncle who did fix it up, though we never got to see it as we are now in Georgia and he's in Colorado. You just can't beat these old vehicles for nostalgia!
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork! My father had one too, not sure on the year...but close to that. He handed it down to my brother who (after years) is still repairing it. I remember the steering wheel being so large and I so little that I would sit legs inside the bottom of the wheel, hands cupping the top-- me, 'driving' down dusty Montana back roads.... what is it about this truck that ties the family together? So sweet, your daughter, indeed.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting! What a lovely way to touch a memory.
ReplyDeleteWonderful art work!! That's a beautiful gift :)
